How it works

A creator posts a wishlist. A fan pays through WrenDrops. For an item, we buy it and ship it. For a cash gift or a contribution to a crowdfunded item, the money goes to the creator and they buy it themselves. Either way the payment runs through us, and the creator's home address is never shown to the fan who paid.

We cannot handle every item or every cash gift. The list of what we can and cannot send is at What we can send.

Accounts

One account covers both sending and receiving gifts. You can sign up with Google or with an email address and password, or send a gift as a guest with no account at all. You must be 18 or older, and old enough to enter a contract where you live if that age is higher.

Keep your sign-in details to yourself. You are responsible for what happens on your account.

Payment and fees

Fans pay a service fee on top of the gift: 7% on an item, 9.75% on a cash gift or a contribution. Card processing is added on top and passed through at cost. Creators are never charged a fee on money they receive. The price shown before you pay is what you pay.

Card payments are handled by Stripe. We never receive or store your card number.

Money sent through WrenDrops is held by Stripe, in accounts Stripe operates under its own licenses. We collect it on the creator's behalf and instruct the payout. WrenDrops is not a bank. A creator's balance is a record of what they are owed, not a deposit. It is not insured and it does not earn interest.

Refunds

A gift is a gift. You are buying something for somebody else, not for yourself, so gifts are generally not refundable once the order is placed. Changing your mind is not a reason we can reverse a payment, and we do not offer refunds on request.

If we failed to deliver, if something arrived wrong or broken, or if you believe a gift broke one of our rules, write to us. We will look at the order and decide, and we will tell you the outcome either way.

When we do refund, the price of the gift is returned and the service fee is kept. Where the failure was ours, we refund the whole amount. Cash gifts and contributions reach the creator's balance and become theirs, so those cannot be reversed. Send one only if you are content for the creator to have it.

Chargebacks

A chargeback is not a refund. It is asking your bank to reverse a payment, and your bank decides the outcome, not us. While a dispute is open we pause withdrawals on the account involved. We respond to disputes using the transaction record, including the technical details described in our Privacy Policy.

Acceptable use

Do not use WrenDrops to send or request money for anything on the prohibited list at What we can send, to impersonate anyone, or to attempt fraud against us, a creator, or another fan. We can remove a listing, refuse an order, or suspend an account where we reasonably believe this is happening.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, United States, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in New Jersey.

We may update these terms as WrenDrops changes, and we will change the date at the top of this page when we do.
